Gnomish Bolter

Art and Imagery is a great source of new ideas and inspiration. I used to love doing writting assignments where they would hand you a random pitcure from a collection, and then ask you to write a story for that scene. I never failed to get a A on those type of assignments.

When I visited Claudio Poza's site, I was kinda skeptic at first. His art is still better then mine, but I wasn't sure I was going to find anything I would want to use to make a charecter with. I kept looking, and then I hit his Oddball page. Right then, I fell in love with the Gnome. He made me want to play a Gnome. I made a gnome that very night and joined in yet another game, where I could at least play him.

This image also inspired a Prestige Class, as you can see below. My hope is to eventually play this class. Sometimes cool images are just too good to pass up.

Exotic Weapon: Hand Crossbow
Feats: Amberdexterity & Point Blank Shot
Craft: Boyer 10+
Special: Must have built and own his own Master Work Hand Crossbow

Class Skills:

Gnomish Bolter's class skills (and corresponding abilities) are Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Chr), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Move Silently (Dex),Search (Int), and Spot (Wis).

The Gnomish Bolter gains 2 + Intelligence Modifier Skill Points per Level

Class Features:

Armor & Weapons : The Gnomish Bolter is proficent with all Simple and Martial Weapons. They can wear light armors.

Improved Amberdexterity : At first level, the Gnomish Bolter has grown to be a expert with using a crossbow in each hand. When using two ranged weapons, the penelty is dropped to -4/-4, or -2/-2 if both weapons are light.

Weapon Specalization : At second level, the Gnomish Bolter gains Weapon Specilization in Hand Crossbows. If he already has this, then he may choose a different weapon to specialize in.

Quickload: At third level, the Gnomish Bolter has improved the speed which he can load crossbows. Loading hand and light crossbows are considered a free action.

Befuddle Bolt: At fifth level, the Gnomish Bolter starts to learn how to use his inate magical abilities to confuse his foes. Before he makes a attack role, he can enchant a befuddle bolt. He can enchant this bolt up to his level per day. If the bolt hits, his opponent makes a Will Save (DC 15). A Failed save means the target is stunned for one round, as he suffers a mild delusion. This is a Spell Like Ability.

Confusion Bolt: At seventh level, after learning how to befuddle his opponent, The Gnomish Bolter learns how to make the effect last. Before he makes a attack roll, he can enchant a confusion bolt. He can enchant this bolt up to half his level per day. If the bolt hits, his opponent makes a Will Save (DC 17). A Failed save means that the target is under the effects of a Confusion Spell for 1d4+1 rounds. This is a Spell Like Ability.

Improved Point Blank : At 9th Level, The Gnomish Fighter is a expert at close quarter combat. Gnomish Bolters get a +3 Attack, and +3 to damage within 30' of a opponent when using a ranged weapon.
